Participatory Defense hubs across the country have partnered with public defenders to win incredible freedom victories for beloved family and community members - showing the liberatory power of defender and community collaboration. But as participatory defense has evolved, the arenas of impact from this partnership extends beyond individual cases, and are creating system-changing models in dynamic movement building moment nationally. In this panel, hub leaders from the National Participatory Defense Network will share examples how the approach is changing pre-trial processes, post-conviction relief, and community influence on the courts in a whole. And the panel will serve as a visioning opportunity, as hub leaders will chart out other partnership opportunity ideas that can free our people.
